Rough Start
The doctor told me that I have a bruised bone and a bad case of sesamoiditis...and that I need 6-8 weeks to make a full recovery if I stay off it. It looks like I'll be cycling and doing other non-weight bearing activities between now and then. Very discouraging. I guess its better to heal now, so I can be healthy later. Psycho Wyco is a definite no, we'll see if I'm good to go for the 6 Hour Snake Run in March.

Wow...totally forgot.
I totally forgot I made this blog and a lot has taken place since my last post. Lets see, since my last post:
-I hit up the slopes of Colorado and went skiing for the first time over break. I had a blast, but did manage to bruise my rib in an wipeout on my last run. I can't wait to go again! Perhaps next year?
-I resumed my training, increased the miles, hit up some hills, signed up for Psycho Wycho Run Toto Run 50K (February) and Mt. Hood 50 (July).
-I injured my left big toe during a run last Thursday and it has been causing me problems ever since. I tried to reduce the miles and do some cross training (a.k.a. cycling), but it usually feels pretty tender no matter what I do. I took yesterday completely off from working out and will take today off as well. I'm hoping its just a minor setback.

First Post
Well this is my first post here. We'll see if I can keep up with this thing. I decided to create a blog to report my progress as I up the ante in the running schedule and venture into some races 50 miles and beyond. Hopefully I can keep a balance this upcoming year and stay injury-free.
